The first step people take before actually organizing or start of organizing a party is guest list and sending the invitations. But they often forget that save the date cards are as important as the invite is. It is an item having the date of the party event, so that people come to know that they need to keep these dates free from their schedule. It is not necessary to have the date card as a card but it can also be magnetic or plastic sticker. The date cards are followed by the actual wedding or any other formal party invitation.
The custom of sending a save the date card was started for customs related to the wedding ceremony, but now they are not restricted to it. People now use it for almost all purpose like bachelorette party invitation, birthday parties, rehearsal dinner invitations, business, office opening announcements, etc.
Due to busy schedule, people generally forget the dates, and so the save the date card can really be of great help. You may think that you can remind them over phone calls or over mails, but chances of forgetting to call of missing out a few guests is very high. With such cards you need not to tell everyone about the date, time and venue. When guests want to plan their trip they can always look and refer to it. Not only this but these cards also let guests feel that you care and have respect for them. It gives a sense of personal invite to the guests.
