Locks are the tools of security and safety to protect one’s important assets or property against unauthorized usage, theft and burglary. A safe without proper lock can provide no security; a lock is essential component of any security system. Locks can be portable or non-portable. Non-portable locks are also known as UPVC door locks that are fixed with the doors of a room or safe. Such type of attached locks provides greater safety against burglary and resists breaking of locks. Padlocks are more common in use and they are available in many attractive shapes and sizes usable in different situations. Brass padlocks are resistant to corrosion and rusting. If one has to use iron locks, they may use locks made of galvanized iron. At doors that may face direct showers, one may use waterproof padlocks. Key safes are specific safes made to provide protection for various keys used in home or at office against misplacing or theft. Attractively designed key safes can be used as portable safes while travelling, or they can be attached with the wall of rooms.
